INTERIOR LAYOUT
Zong-Ter is a Chinese-style café and light eatery rooted in a deep family heritage. Originally established as a traditional Chinese snack export business by the grandfather (A-gong), the space has since been passed down through generations — with the second generation led entirely by women, marking a significant shift in both ownership and direction.
Now in the hands of the third generation, the business reflects the transition from traditional trade to a new model shaped by the internet age — where physical storefronts are no longer essential. Rather than letting the original shopfront fade into history, the current generation chose to transform it into a hybrid café and dining space that preserves and celebrates the family’s culinary roots.
Located in a prime location in the heart of Bangkok’s Chinatown, the space blends old and new. The first floor and mezzanine serve as a cozy café and casual dining area, offering original family recipes developed by the owner’s aunt. Interior elements reflect the family’s heritage — from Chinese details that honor A-gong’s origins, to female portraits that pay tribute to the era when the mother and her sisters carried on the business.
The second floor houses a small office and food development lab, where new ideas are tested. The third floor is home to the main kitchen, where traditional recipes are prepared with care.
Zong-Ter is more than a place to eat — it’s a living archive of memory, taste, and transformation across three generations.
